K-MOOC

K-MOOC is the main MOOC platform in Republic of Korea and was established with support from the Korean government in 2015. K-MOOC is operated by the National Institute for Lifelong Education (NILE) and powered by an open edX platform. In 2019, with a total of 1 million enrollments, 10 million learners visited K-MOOC platform. There are 523 courses in higher education from 7 disciplined fields. K-MOOC has been working in close cooperation with 100 institutions for developing of courses. In line with global trends of open higher education, K-MOOC aims to open university lectures to realize a balance of practical opportunities in higher education. In addition, K-MOOC strives to grow as a global brand by offering high-quality MOOCs.
